Kim Barter
Training Manager
As a busy mum with four young children, I know the secret to being organised. It’s these skills I bring to High Profile Solutions (HPS) and specifically to the training department. My experience includes the roll out, training and implementation of software solutions for Canon New Zealand and Siemens Energy Services, and several years in an IT environment in the United Kingdom.
I worked at Canon New Zealand for 11 years and was responsible for customer service management before moving into IT. This experience gives me valuable insight into dealing with HPS clients’ needs.
AT HPS I link the software programmers and HPS clients to hone the functional specifications required for each implementation.
While the modules are designed to be generic, each solution is often tailored and adapted to suit each client’s specific needs. Some clients require additional fields such as more levels of sign off before an incident is closed and the HPS team is happy to change the programme to suit the client.
Being responsible for training also requires flexibility to suit the client’s needs. An Australian client only required training for high level users while a recent New Zealand client wanted all their staff trained. The level of training depends on which modules are being used as some are more complex than others, however overall the rate of learning is high due to an intuitive interface and the dashboard.
What I love about working at HPS is the chance to be involved in the development process. I enjoy learning about what’s required and then working through the process to come out with an end result. It’s so rewarding to see how our clients benefit from the programmes that we develop for them. We can see how much easier their life becomes.
I’m passionate about customer service. It’s key because customers are a really important part of any business. You have to ensure they’re happy and getting what they ask for. It’s rewarding to have a satisfied customer and even better at a personal level to be developing a trusting relationship.
Life is full on with a husband and four sports-mad children and when we do get a chance to chill out, there’s nothing we enjoy more than going for a quiet walk.
